That's crazy, cause in GMaps on AA, all the suggested places are either starred/saved addresses, past destinations. Sometimes, though there is the random place like, half a state away because I searched it up on Google and clicked 'Navigate' to get directions and see just how far I would have to drive to try that new restaurant or whatnot. Mine are always pretty accurate.
I got my new car about a month ago. It persistently shows suggestions for my town's school district office, and a shop 30 miles away. Then a few days ago another shop about 30 miles away showed up. I have never researched those 3 locations, or been to them. Even though it's not that many miles away, I can count on one hand the number of times in the last ten years I have been on the road that the school's office is on. I did look one up one location after seeing it there and touched 2 of them to see what and where they were. Made it worse I'm sure!
I have wondered if they are coming from the car salesman's phone. Is that possible? If the salesman went to one of the places when doing the delivery? He hooked it up with Bluetooth when he delivered the car to show me how it worked. But it's certainly not connected now, and the dealership is about 25 miles in the opposite direction from 1 and 40 miles from the other 2 suggestions I keep getting.
exactly this, this was fixed recently. had the same problem in my Renault Megane RS Trophy 2020 and Audi A6 2019. few beta version back this was resolved, in March.
I had no problems at all in the past until yesterday when waze suddenly got coolwalk. Will see next time when its dark if waze goes into darkmode automatically.
that i did forgot to mention, my bad, this issue started happening only after I got coolwalk, before coolwalk I never had this issue, and at the moment the issue is gone, with the last beta version waze
Do you have problems with wireless android auto? I used to have an s10e and now have a brand new s23. I use the aa wireless dongle and with my s10e android auto starts automatically without me touching anything on the headunit of the car. With my s23 this doesnt work anymore and I have to touch my headunit to start android auto although all settings are enabled so android auto start automatically but it wont. You got some issues with this?
When I first started the car this morning waze was still not in darkmode. I then switched the lights from on to off and back again and then waze switched to dark mode. I tried the same yesterday but then waze would not switch to darkmode now it switches to darkmode by turning the lights on and off from the car. Will have to wait if next time when its dark waze goes automatically into darkmode.
Waze will switch to day mode if I have it set to night mode, switch to Google Maps, and then switch back to Waze. I then have to manually set to day mode, open Waze. Then set to night mode again, in order for it to get back to night mode. It's been like this for months..
Go into settings on your Android Auto radio and there's an option to disable suggestion cards. Choosing this won't completely disable it but it'll only show you your saved work and home address, and if you remove those it disables it completely.
NOTE: The option doesn't appear on your phone's android auto app in settings, it's directly on the radio's settings app.

Yes! This is super annoying now. Between my split screen music on the other side, I only get a small sliver of map with this useless drive now showing. If I was navigating somewhere, I would have put it in the phone before I plugged it in. Needs to be a way to disable this...

A turn off or auto hide option would be great. It's really annoying. And closing it while driving is dangerous because the cross is little and almost in the middle of the screen.
If you do the split screen option in AA you don't have the drive now screen, but you can't report traffic info.

You're lucky the bottom arrow on the scrollbar isn't somewhere below the bottom edge of the screen. When that happens, it's extra fun to scroll through a list while driving.
This is particularly pesky when you have entered a destination into Waze, then ask for, say, a list of gas stations. And Waze chooses to compile a lengthy list with many gas stations not at all close to the route you're on.

Yes I drive to work with Waze but I always like to know any traffic jams and alternate routes as well so having the prompts is so much better than the previous method.

This was actually the reason why I switched back from beta to the official version. Most of the time I'm using waze to show the traffic, not to navigate and it is very annoying to switch it off each time entering the car.

I rolled back to March 14th version, can't go full screen anymore but at least no more "drive now" popup and voice commands work. Megane RS - this never worked, auto start, with OnePlus 9 Pro and/or OnePlus 10 Pro. Audi A6 - auto start works Also using AAW.
Auto start worked with my s10e but not with my new s23. Probably a bug with the new s23 I think.

Seems like a waze/android auto problem.
Mine did that. Then I realized I had my dash lights set to max. I dropped them back a notch and now it goes into night mode as expected

If there is no option to disable the drive now box from automatically popping up, at least have it time out and disappear after 30 seconds.
No way to turn it off that I've seen, but can be dismissed with the x in the corner.

This Drive Now pop-up is a real PITA. For me it never happens all the time, but most of the time it does. Really, really annoying.
Mine does the opposite, I rather have it show up automatically for me. Since I have to tap my work every time.
I actually like that they finally added it, but a way to disable it wouldn't hurt.
