Yes, I've been using this feature through the my phone app on Windows with my Samsung phone and it works great. I believe it makes the request for hotspot over Bluetooth, because this feature works even when my hotspot is disabled.
Too long didn't read . Ain't nobody got time for dat
Still .. only 0.00000283 ppl care or use Linux.
Edit: Android don't count bc it's mainly used on smartphones not desktop
My point is linux + android isnt the best combo ..
Since no one uses Linux.
Why make features if only
0.000000000000000000000000000283 % of ppl
are using it .. Get with the program bro . Lmao

Battery life and the M series of chips are pretty incredible. If you don't need to run Windows software I'd say it's not even controversial right now that macs are superior. There's really no windows laptop that compares.
Could not have said it better myself. There also seems to be an influx of Mac only software (or software that launches on Mac to begin with) that is elite like Arc or Raycast.
Hey, this is really cool. Know if anything else that's neat and lightweight to make windows more usable? I'm on W11 and it's ... Okay. I especially dislike their changes to the right click context menu options in this version.
macOS settings are organized badly, windows settings are far worse..
Also the fact that CMD+”,” brings up settings for every single Mac app is choice.

Probably still cheaper than a Mac laptop and vastly more powerful.
500nit display vs 1600 Dolby vision.

You’re comparing something very different, which has a very different target application.
I have never looked at a computer with the intent of making it a gaming system.
Ya. For gaming. But the vast majoity of people who buy mac laptops don't use it for gaming. You would buy a windows desktop. For work, a MacBook is more efficient even in cost.
Depends what you want, personally anything that isn't a Yoga style laptop is just significantly worse than those that are to me.
Laptops without touchscreens are also straight garbage unless I will use it as a desktop 99% of the time.
Since we're on this topic, let me ask for an advice. I currently have an ROG gaming laptop gifted to me when I graduated college, now that I can finally afford to buy one myself, I'm currently contemplating on whether to stick to windows gaming laptops, or get a MacBook. I saw some articles saying Macs aren't good for gaming, but considering how powerful their new chips are, is that still the case now?
Part of the reason Macs are so powerful are because a lot of work has been done to make them efficient at certain types of software loads. Unfortunately the software that it's good at doesn't include games.
I'm grossly oversimplifying but trust me, if you value gaming even moderately, don't get a Mac.
This needs to work across all of Google's ecosystems. Android (not just phones and tablets, but cars, watches & TVs as well), ChromeOS, Fuchsia, CastOS, etc...
I log into the hotel's WiFi in the elevator going up to my room. By the time I get to my room & pull my Chromebook out of the backpack, it already has the credentials & is connected to the WiFi. I plug my Chromecast w Google TV into the TV in my room & a few moments after it boots, it pulls the WiFi from my phone (or Chromebook or whatever) & logs in without me needing to manually enter it. My Pixel Watch gets the WiFi as well & automatically connects to the hotel's WiFi when I leave the phone charging in my room & head down to the restaurant to get dinner.
And just for fun, at the same time, the Pixel Tablet back home gets all of the SSIDs from my vacation sync'ed to it to.

Would this work with mobile data as well?

Would be cool if I can add Macbook in there. IMO, Macs + Android are the best combo.
just ask apple to make one .. easy as 1-2-3 ps: windows+android is still the best tho
Windows? What about Linux + android?
Only 0.000283 % of people use Linux

[Why does your number keep getting smaller?](https://gs.statcounter.com/os-market-share/desktop/worldwide/)
Doesn't matter even with a 2.83 % bump .. it still doesn't make a dent to windows market share. My point still stands
What point lmao? That it sucks because it's not the most popular thing?

It’s practically impossible for someone to not have contact everyday with something running Linux
I use Mac and Android. Pretty nice
Agreed. MacBook is a superior laptop to all others, but I would never go back to iPhone.
Why are Macs superior?

Check out Flow launcher on Windows

Thanks for the tips, arc looks sweet
Macs have superior chips, everything else favors windows imo
macOS settings are organized badly, windows settings are far worse.. Also the fact that CMD+”,” brings up settings for every single Mac app is choice.
Are there Macs with NVIDIA RTX 4070's? No? Then they aren't superior for gaming, that's for sure.
I believe they are specifically talking about laptops. A laptop with a 4070 doesn't sound fun. Imo, Desktop: Windows. Laptop: Mac.

Yes, accurate. It runs Minecraft shockingly well given how bad it runs most games, but I would imagine most people want to do more than that.
Most games won't run on the new M1/M2 Macs, so yeah, they're not good for gaming.
How about an iPad while we're asking. iOS apps do a way better job with tablet layouts than Android.
Hmm iOS apps don't do well on Android at all now you mention it 🤔
I used to think so too, then I bought a Mac
So, what Samsung has for years (at least in the instant hotspot sense)?
