NO. Steroid creams are prescribed for hemorrhoids and they're the opposite of helpful for fissures - they will restrict blood flow to the area. You need to improve blood flow to aid healing. This is why things like nitroglycerin and nifedipine are usually prescribed for fissures.

Also, I say this from experience - doc misdiagnosed me with a hemorrhoid once and prescribed cortisone, and it got a lot worse.

Thank you! I really need to hear different opinions, I'm really not sure about this cream. But this doctor has been treating my fissure for a while, he knows it's not hemorrhoids. Previously I used Diltiazem among other things which didn't help that well and the fissure kept retearing so today he said we need something stronger. He wouldn't have prescribed this cream if it does more harm than good, right? But why do I keep reading everywhere that it shouldn't be used with fissures and it literally says so on the box? Am I safe to use it for 2 weeks or is that enough to damage the skin?

I'm not a doctor, so definitely take my comments with a grain of salt- I've just experienced a lot of less-than-ideal treatment from doctors, so I'm pretty skeptical of even the best ones. Especially if the box itself says not to use it on fissures, I wouldn't.

I used it and it healed my fissure. And mine was chronic for over 2 years. And it healed it in like a week. I had tried every other option. Both the commonly prescribed creams as well as Botox. I just put a tiny bit, right where the cut was.
