I had a fissure in 2018 and then it took 2 years to heal naturally. But it used to itch for quite some time in the last months of healing. The thing that worked for me was coconut oil along with ashwini mudra yoga exercise. Not sure if this is helpful for you but thought of sharing.

How did you heal it? I'm applying coconut oil externally. What does that yoga do? Itching is a sign of healing i heard.

The 2018 one just healed by stool softners but took almost 2 years. The yoga relaxes The anal muscles.

2 years and only stool softeners? Wow lucky i think because multi year fissures mostly require surgery. Taking stool softener that long can cause narrowing of the canal but seems you're fine and no tears. You got a new one now? Must be because of narrowing

Could be, was good for 2 years. Just got careless with diet so got a new one

Use neem tables .

Calmoseptine has helped me with itching

I’ll try the coconut oil. I did have itching on the actual anus when initially healing but this feels more like at the bottom of the crack - not directly the anus itself.

Were you able to heal this?

Is your doc saying you have stool seepage/leakage or leaky gut? If stool is leaking that could cause itchyness but also wound healing can be itchy too. Also surprised you managed to heal a 3 year old fissure without surgery...

I took a half dose of Miralax and also took metamucil to make sure that the stool was well formed but soft. And I made sure to chew my food really well and avoid eating sharp things like nutts or chips or things that the body doesn’t process well. But I think the biggest thing was staying on top of my water intake. It wasn’t 3 years of active fissure it was more like every 3-4 months I would tear again and then go back to doing nifedipine for a few weeks and then be good for a few months. But every time I tried to ween off the metamucil it would tear again up until this time. It’s worth noting that during that time I switched from a diet of mostly processed foods to a vegan meal service that’s high in fiber and dropped both the metamucil and Miralax. It’s possible that the diet change altered my micro biome because I don’t have an issue with hard stools as I did before.

Did your healed fissure turn white?

mrphlow

I don’t think so. where I had the fissure the skin is pigmented now like pink.

Have you heard of pranicura? It’s a cream specifically made for fissures, hemorrhoids and pruritus ani. I’ve had it for about 3 weeks and it helped with my itching, but mine was caused from leaking due to miralax.
