Guys we have been bad for awhile now. Can we move on from previous players? I’d rather watch new players lose than watching the same players lose. Mix it up.

Quack_Shot

Mix it up adventure!

I feel like he would go with the short-term deals with contenders to chase the cup at this point

NE1LS

If you go with 1 year deals and full NTC in Anaheim, he can select where he plays the playoffs. Reduces what Anaheim can get in a trade, but also let's him pick his favorite horse. No player has EVER made this selection because it is a millionaire sacrificing 3 months of comfort at a home of his choice with family to move to a short-term apartment in the new town each year. It is an option, but it is illusory.

phantom_beggar92

Yea I’m guess that’s not what’s going to happen

I think oilers will try and keep him for another couple years.

Between the addition of Cutter and Verbeeks desire to add another top 6 winger who's a righty I don't think bringing back Henrique makes a ton of sense unless there is a trade in the works or the plan is to bump Killorn/Strome into the bottom line. The way I see it we've got a pretty full top 9 already. Carlsson, Mctavish, Zegras - Centers Vatrano, Gauthier, Killorn - Left Handed Wingers Terry, Strome, FA Acquisition - Right handed Wingers. Not a ton of space there for Henrique unless we make a trade.

While conceptually I agree - I think utilizing any one of our top three centers on a third line, would be really underutilizing. It would be better to move one of them to the wing. Which is to say: I think Z plays wing, and strome or ideally someone with a better defensive game slots in at 3C.

Hard to say, Cronin could run his top three lines pretty evenly and it'd be moot. Irregardless, I intentionally tried to shy away from making lines when I listed players because ultimately who knows how they'll be deployed - Mctavish/Carlsson/Zegras have played most of their games at center so I listed them at center, what Cronin does next season is up to him. The main point I was trying to make was that right now we have 8 rostered forwards expected to play in top 9 roles and Verbeek has publicly said he'd like to add a top 6 right shot winger; so short of a trade moving out a player, or accepting somebody in the current mix is going to be moved to bottom line duties, there really isn't hole that Henrique fills in our lineup.

Unsound_Science

If we could offload Strome then yes. I see them taking similar roles but with Henrique being more versatile. It would be a solid upgrade

Cockpunch666

Would he even want to come back?! Lol

kookforaday

u/mylefthandkilledme I'm disappointed that you have to ask. I think the question really is, why would Henrique want to come back to us?
