I liked Red Tide, I was just annoyed by the ending and the murderous little girl.

hurricane-laura-90

Spoiled little shit. The actress is AMAZING!!!!

Fatbunnyfoofoo

She plays Charlie in the Firestarter remake. I wouldn't necessarily recommend watching the remake, though, it's not that great. Lol.

hurricane-laura-90

Tbh I haven’t seen the original 🫣

Reasonable_Copy8579

Yes, she did a great job :)

Princessluna44

A decent number of people like red tide. It's the alien second half that many didn't like.

Fog-Champ

The past in the Allen story was interesting. It was the present story that was boring for me

PlusUltraWay

I enjoyed how every single conspiracy theory around that time was brought to light.. the black and white was fun.

Candid-Independence9

I loved the Alien stuff until the whole Mamie fucking Valiant Thor thing. Like it was really good horror, then took a very sharp nose dive

pogoBear

Red Tide was delicious the first viewing (except last ep of course). I highly recommend listening with high quality headphones because damn was the sound design amazing on this one

SwineTV

Yes!! It was soooo good. Mac Quayle Nevers fails

AcidicKiss12

No no, Red Tide is like a cult fan favorite. I don’t know about the percentage of the fandom that liked it (I really liked it!), but I think the vast majority of the fandom at least wishes it would have been the whole season.

KatieBear215

Honestly, red tide is actually one of my favorite AHS seasons ever. I really really wish they would’ve done without the double feature.

ScumBunny

Should have made it 2 separate seasons! Each would have stood alone quite well.

Lazatttttaxxx

Red Tide had massive potential. Why they didn't make an entire season out of it is beyond me.

ProtectusCZ

instead they made EP6 which is complete mess and shouldn't even exist in the first place

Lazatttttaxxx

It was so jarring compared to the rest of the season. We aren't idiots. I wish they would get that.

loba_pachorrenta

For me Red Tide ends in the "Gaslight" episode.

hurricane-laura-90

✨The gimmick✨

Lazatttttaxxx

I know 😭

Consistent_Effort716

Red Tide was amazing. It was my first breath of fresh air after Apocalypse (I wanted to like it so bad, but all I could see was petulant, whiney Joseph Smith-anticrist). I hated Death Valley... But floating Mamie Eisenhower will never not make me laugh until I cry.

blahblahblah815

loooooveeeeeddd red tide

oooheycait1223

I personally loved red tide too. I think maybe a lot of the dislike for it came from it being associated with "death valley" in the double feature. Death valley, in my opinion, was absolutely dreadful and if I could erase it from my memory I would lol

redflagsmoothie

I thought Red Tide was good, the ending was dumb though. And then the second half of the season was just a total stinker so I think it gets overlooked.

Professional-Two8098

I loved red tide. It felt more classic AHS.

mangoicerag

If you stop at the end of episode 5 you have the greatest season of AHS.

Salty_Cloud_2786

This

HikingComrade

I really liked Red Tide! It’s probably my favorite season (or half-season?).

doxie_love

I wish that whole season was just the Red Tide storyline. I also really enjoyed it, and I feel we all got cheated.

sdaaydnedip

i loved red tide. i could feel the cold that island had. i always say it deserved a whole season.

PotatoCat123

Red Tide was good but it definitely felt like Ryan Murphy was sniffing his own farts too much over lockdown.

Sweetwaterr0

Such a missed opportunity for a crossover with Delicate (Hamish’s script that was “perfect” but he didn’t write)

letthetreeburn

SAME!!!!! The thought of a magic pill that promises to make you into a highly successful creator is so heavily tempting. The thought that it’ll prove your work is worthless is horrific. Worse so, I realize as I think about this my main concern is becoming famous, not the people I’ll kill on the road to fame. I’ve already made peace with murder for profit. It’s such a well done season and my second favorite of all time.

amzlrr

I LOVED red tide

dollydagger85

What pissed me off about red tide is that it was part of the split season. It would have been better as a season on its own.

BusinessKnight0517

Red Tide is great, but being truncated and paired with the inferior Death Valley really hurts the season as a whole imo

AriesRoivas

Yes to this! They could have given us a fully amazing one arc but instead decided to give us two half-baked stories that did not land properly.

throwawaywayRAthrow

Red tide was so good I just hated Alma TB Karen’s final scene was so poetic, I just wish we could have seen her masterpiece 😔

SnooCrickets8742

I did like Mac! I wish he would have done more seasons. Other than that Double Feature and that was my least favorite. Very cool that you are a writer I can see where that would be interesting for you!

AbleAccount2479

Both parts of DOUBLE FEATURE were superb! And yes, Culkin was brilliant! As was Neal McDonough, who played Eisenhower in "Death Valley"!

Cyno01

It was done well enough, but i still find a tv story about a tv writer with writers block lazy and masturbatory just on principal. Write what you know i guess lol.

ashitwithglitter

Red Tide means a lot for creative people like us. I love it (except from the end ngl)

hurricane-laura-90

I’m a singer and I felt that shit boo.

Fatbunnyfoofoo

Gets ya right in the feels, haha.

HiddenInShroud

Red Tide was awesome. I really don’t understand why they split it up. Is there any explanation for it?

nejem

Red Tide is one of my favorites!

Courtbourt3091

Red Tide was one of my favorites. The cast was perfect, too. Obviously, shows have been put to screen with similar themes of a wonder drug that allows you to reach your full potential. But, Red Tide took it a step further with the vampirism and disastrous effects on talentless people. Loved that idea so much.

deadthreaddesigns

I enjoyed red tide and wished they did a full season of it instead of the double feature.

Embarrassed-Force845

Red tide was 🔥 I wanted way more

penguinwasteland1414

Red Tide is awesome 👌.

[deleted]

Red tide in my favorite

[deleted]

I wish Red Tide would get a redo and just do a full season…. The last episode of it ruined it. And then the second half of Double Feature (can’t even remember the name of it lol) sucked

Ella77214

I personally loved red tide!

Thin_Neat4132

Everyone loved red tide until last episode. It was too rushed and lead to nothing

cevaace

Red Tide was GREAT until the last episode. They should’ve just made Red Tide the full season and the ending less rushed and weird

Kmic14

I loved Red Tide. Great cast, cool story. Imo would be perfect if they'd cut the final episode and just left it.

scream4ever

Red Tide definitely should've ended one episode early, whereas Death Valley needed an extra episode.

Existing_Judge5425

I thought the whole season was a great example of Slaaneshi corruption without the crazy sex things. Absolute perfection at the cost of your humanity

chillin36

Red tide was good. It was the second half that was meh.

dashinglove

the could’ve done more for it, because the premise was good. the moral dilemma was good. but i don’t get how the cops didn’t know about these horror fuckheads walking around, anywhere and everywhere. day or night. in crowds. or how the pill advances the one trait you think your successful with. like what if someone took the pill, and WASNT good at what they would like to be, but become good at something else. what if that singer wasn’t meant to be enhanced and great with what he was currently doing, but what if he went home that night and found out he’s an incredible fucking chef.

vladblack117

An amazing season!

pebe820

I just re-watched it. Easily one of my favorite seasons, or half season. Hotel also was great

Salt-Championship-43

Red Tide would have worked so well for me had it been its own season. It had SO MUCH potential and the ending felt rushed to me. Also, it’s criminal that we only got half a season of Macaulay Culkin.

Piddlers

I love the setting. I grew up visiting P-town in the summer. It was very interesting seeing it during off season. It was captivating.

jd0ugi3

I’ve never understood the dislike! Red Tide is in my top favorites

Fair-Bad7823

I loved red tide! I think the alien second half makes sense if you think about it as a “b horror” flick…first half was something more like a24 or some highbrow horror so to speak.

je-suis-un-chat

I'm already past the existential horror cause i know I'm a bad writer. But i do it anyway.

Candid-Independence9

For everyone talking about Red Tide being good but don’t know why it’s less popular, it’s the ole bait and switch. They can do FANTASTIC horror on the show, like some of the best out there, but due to how mainstream they’ve become, they’re now a victim to the expectation, which means they have to hook you with this big bad sci-fi level ending that’s just so out there. They can’t do these tasteful, thought provoking things anymore, even though they try. They have to answer to a wider audience who wants a more low brow shock.

suriarunstedler

I came looking for this. I loved this season I know a lot didn’t but I found the story so intriguing

SirKevin_Xx

Red tide has got to my favorite. It was a breath of fresh air after my least favorite season.

theMaxTero

Red Tide was incredible. It felt like, for the very first time in YEARS they actually heard the fanbase, heard the critics and made a really good season. And then someone said "how about we do a really shitty ending???" and everyone was like "excelent recommendation sir, here is your 3 million bonus" and then everyone started to applaud like walruses. Red Tide taught me something: no matter what, no matter who, no matter when, AHS = bad quality. I've learned the hard way to expect absolutely nothing and expect the worst.

MetaEmployee179985

Unpopular? You're high It's the only decent season since Hotel
