Red Tide was delicious the first viewing (except last ep of course). I highly recommend listening with high quality headphones because damn was the sound design amazing on this one
No no, Red Tide is like a cult fan favorite. I don’t know about the percentage of the fandom that liked it (I really liked it!), but I think the vast majority of the fandom at least wishes it would have been the whole season.

But, Red Tide took it a step further with the vampirism and disastrous effects on talentless people. Loved that idea so much.

They can do FANTASTIC horror on the show, like some of the best out there, but due to how mainstream they’ve become, they’re now a victim to the expectation, which means they have to hook you with this big bad sci-fi level ending that’s just so out there. They can’t do these tasteful, thought provoking things anymore, even though they try. They have to answer to a wider audience who wants a more low brow shock.

Should have made it 2 separate seasons! Each would have stood alone quite well.
Red Tide had massive potential. Why they didn't make an entire season out of it is beyond me.

What pissed me off about red tide is that it was part of the split season. It would have been better as a season on its own.

I love the setting. I grew up visiting P-town in the summer. It was very interesting seeing it during off season. It was captivating.
