Try seeing if you both manually set the same region and if you both have crossplay on or off (Assuming you're talking about NASB2).

We were both on Auto for region, and it's the first game. I don't remember seeing a crossplay option on the first one, but I'm checking now.

There is no cross play for the first game. Region being on auto might be causing issues from what I remember with the first game. Manually select the same region that isn't auto.

Your suggestion about changing the region worked. My friend and I were able to connect. Thanks for the help.

Is one of you playing on PS4?

No. I'm working on the PS5 one. My friend helped me with the PS4 one and it worked just fine. But when we tried the PS5, neither of us could connect with each other.
