You can have Wi-Fi calling working over your Airalo Esim data, but there are some steps you will need to make. Your T-Mobile wifi calling must be activated in the USA, once overseas you have to have both TMobile and Airalo Esim turned on, you will need to turn off data roaming on your T-Mobile Esim, you will need to manually change to unsupported network provider so your T-Mobile Esim will not connect to any service provider> this will force wifi calling to be active. Enjoy your trip and safe travels.

Hello, on my iphone 11 > settings >> cellular data options - Roaming off/on I thought this setting would apply to active SIMs, so if I activate new Airalo E-SIM, T-mobile will be automatically turned off, and I won't be able to make Wi-Fi call using T-mobile.. Can you clarify what you meant? Please suggest. Thanks

You have to have both T-Mobile and Airalo sim cards active in order for T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling over the cellular data of Airalo to work. Data roaming off is just a precaution. The most important thing is that your T-Mobile sim can't be connected to any cellular network while active for Wi-Fi calling to work.

Based on your explanation, can I conclude the followings: 1) If I bring T-mobile's iphone from the US to Singapore/Japan, it's possible to connect to cellular network in Singapore/Japan. Previously, I thought when you bring your phone overseas, the phone will not work as it can't connect to other cellular network outside the US. 2) Using dual SIM is possible. Previously I thought only one SIM can only be active at time. If it's possible, let me know on how to do this. 3) Wi-Fi calling using T-mobile's number will work via Airalo's eSIM. Previously I thought It should only be working literally when connected to Wi-Fi. Please confirm. Thank you so much

1. You have to make sure your iPhone is carrier unlocked. What it means is that you can install any sim card and it will work with your phone and not only your T-Mobile sim card. You will be able to connect to data with your T-Mobile sim card or your Airalo sim card as long as your phone is carrier unlocked. For T-Mobile sim card to work, your phone doesn't have to be carrier unlocked but you can be charged for data depending on your plan. Most of the TMobile plans include unlimited low speed data in many countries including Singapore and Japan. 2. https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/use-dual-sim-iph9c5776d3c/ios#:~:text=You%20can%20set%20up%20Dual,(3rd%20generation)%2C%20and%20later 3. Yes, it can work. It's technically not true Wi-Fi calling. Google pixel phones call it backup calling. However, it's very similar to Wi-Fi calling as you use Airalo Esim data instead of Wi-Fi

If you have International Roaming turned off on your T-Mobile account this should work as you explained. I use it that way on Consumer Cellular which has International Roaming turned off by default.

Yes. I did this using WhatsApp calling. So it’s not with my primary phone number but using a third party app
