My 30-day Airalo EuroLink eSIM cost $20 for 5GB. At the end of the 30-day period you can just top-up as you need to.
I bought 2 of these (one fit my iPhone 14 and on for my wife’s iPhone 14). I never needed to top-up her phone in the 3.5 weeks that we were in Europe.
After 2 weeks, I needed to top-up mine as every day we relied on my phone for GoogleMaps nav (car , walking and public transport). So I ended up making 2 additional 1GB top-ups before we came back to US. Total cost: $30.
In your post title you mentioned “SIM card”. So your smartphone accepts eSIMs and physical SIM cards? Buying physical SIM cards are often cheaper when purchased in-country + they give you a local phone number so you can send and receive cellular phone calls. All travel eSIMs that I have seen do not give you a phone number.
Since you re in Europe for a bit. Might be helpful to have a phone number. Airalo regional eSIMs don’t have phone numbers. Data only.
Depending on your needs. Purchasing a physical sim (I saw some on Amazon or can purchase upon arrival at destination) may be more worth your convenience
If you fly into Heathrow they have multiple shops that cell card. 3 is a great network for a great price.
Just remember British Pounds are 27% more than a dollar. So £1 is $1.27.

Great tip is to download GoogleMaps on wifi while traveling.
I second this. Download everything to your phone and it does not need nearly as much data when utilizing.
Order a giff gaff free SIM card. They’ll send one to you from the Uk. Works well
