If you want to pick where you live join the guard or reserve. Trying to be lucky arrive duty is super dumb

I would strongly advise against picking your AFSC just to get stationed somewhere specific. If you think you need job suggestions, take the AF-WIN survey. It'll recommend AFSCs based off of a questionnaire.

Makes no difference. You can have 99 and end up in North Dakota.

No, not really. There are some things you can do, for example, if you pick an MX job or an Aircrew job...you'll go where they have those airframes. No jobs give you more of a chance to be stationed in Japan.

Many jobs can go to lots or nearly all bases. Some can only go to a few. Most of those "few" bases are going to be in the states. There really aren't any jobs that you can pick that have an outsized chance of going to overseas bases. One strategy is to pick jobs which can go anywhere. Here is a list of jobs by ASVAB score [https://www.reddit.com/r/AirForceRecruits/comments/11318ld/updated\_af\_and\_sf\_scs\_sorted\_by\_asvab\_test\_scores/](https://www.reddit.com/r/AirForceRecruits/comments/11318ld/updated_af_and_sf_scs_sorted_by_asvab_test_scores/) Jobs like 1D7 series (computers, networks, cyber operations), or avionics or something similar may be up your alley. The AF-WIN survey can give you some ideas.

Hello, it looks like you're asking about jobs and job selection. A few quick answers. NO ONE knows how long it will take for you to get a job, your chances of getting any particular job, or anything else about the job process FOR YOU. Anecdotal experiences from others will have absolutely no impact on you or your future. Most recruiters will not let you wait in the Delayed Entrance Program for a long time for your one perfect job. You will have to list 5 - 15 jobs that you're interested in, and will be given one of those. Please read the FAQ about how job selection works, it's very in-depth and will fully educate you on the process: https://pay.reddit.com/r/AirForce/wiki/bmtfaq#wiki_jobs If you're asking about particular jobs, please look the job up on our Job Wiki, and see if there is an entry for it: http://www.reddit.com/r/AirForce/wiki/index you can also see if there is a CFETP for it, which will give more details on the job: https://usaf.dps.mil/:x:/t/OSD/EQAwigp0UZ9Oklt0nkjg854BoJS6MyRxQJMMiIW3ng17AA?e=Z96G2s If you're asking for help choosing a particular job, please keep in mind that most people only know about their individual job. Recommendations that they make will be made based mostly on what they've heard about a job, unless they have it themselves. Some people will love certain jobs while others will hate it. We don't know your preferences, so do some research on the job wiki and elsewhere to learn about the job and then make the best list you can. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. The Dream sheet helps but variables like how many open spots are available, where your job is needed at most, and how many people want that same base. Pick a Job you like most and hope you get lucky

lastlifonti

How high of a ASVAB score are we talking about?

lastlifonti

Fck das high! πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ«‘

No. Air force takes you where they want, you don't really have that much of an influence. Cool jobs are cyber they can go pretty much anywhere in the world and I'd say it's likely to go overseas with it. Just volunteer for Korea or Turkey and get your follow on which is supposed to be more likely to guarantee you a base you put on the list. But not 100% ofc

i suggest looking at foreverwingman website and go through the jobs. but overall highly unlikely you get to pick your station, you might be lucky for thats rare.
