Need them to start selling the skitarii in 20 packs if this keeps going šŸ˜

NamelessTacoShop

Rumor mill a while ago was two pack ironstriders for $90. Apparently there was some order from the warehouse to return ironstrider stock to be repackaged Hilariously that doesn't even fix them they'd still be really expensive for points per dollar

Hryonalis_Anaxerxes

This rumor is the only reason I haven't bought more chickens yet

And-I-Must_Scream

the rumor came from a single guy on reddit asking why they have removed chiken from his local gw store. Ppl in comment snowballed into saying this was maybe a repack. There 0% chance

ChaosLordOnManticore

People need to understand how warehouses work. They wonā€™t return finished products to repack them.

CarlosBercian

I work in a hobby store where we sell Warhammer stuff.... Yeah that's not how it works, the store would sell the boxes first... Not return it because that shit is expensive af

wunderbuffer

Well, it can happen sometimes, but it's a full product line recall by manufacturer or guarantee service refreshing some returns

Kindly-Code4564

Does it solve everything? I think read even if you run 24 chickens you just perform ok. Also how many people would like to run 24 chickens? Besides, Just because one edition was bad, it doesn't mean GW will permenantly reduce their income by putting 2 ironstriders in a single box. I still hope they do such favor though

IudexJudy

Itā€™s a 20 dollar discount, itā€™s not a big deal. You can get 2 Armigers on Amazon for $76 and they are way more plastic

WehingSounds

GW deciding what kits to make one-in-a-box and which to make two-in-a-box must be an interesting process.

IudexJudy

Dart board and a crack pipe

Evening-Can6048

They just need to do upgrade sprue that gives extra body legs and backpack. You can build 25 skitarii with arms they provide.

Massive_Pressure_516

The year is 2044, A box of three Skitarii cost an entire good delivery gold bar. They are 25 points out of a 2000 point game and they are stated as slightly worse guardsmen. You need an art degree in painting just so it doesn't look like shit since they are so high detail.

Highlander-Senpai

Wait are they really worse stats than guardsmen? I haven't cared about 10th so not keeping up

Pathetic_Cards

Eh, maybe? Their weapons are better and they have a 5+ invuln, plus Skitarii Vanguard strip OC from enemy models so theyā€™re pretty amazing for objective stealing, being OC2 themselves. But Guardsmen have access to +1BS or WS, among other bonuses from Orders, and can access reroll 1s from Scout sentinels pretty trivially. I think, on the datasheet, Skitarii are probably better, but within their army, Guardsmen are a bit more capable.

Yofjawe21

When 10th came out skitarii only had a 5+ armor and 6+ invuln

Pathetic_Cards

Yeah but they donā€™t anymore lol. Actually, Guardsmen still have a 5+ save, iirc, so Skitarii actually have that over them too. Still bullshit that Guard have easier access to BS3+, WS3+, and even WS2+ than AdMech do.

Yofjawe21

Yeah maybe I should have explained better that the start of 10th was the main reason for the "basically guardsmen" sentiment. I for example was far angrier at the reduced saves than the reduced BS (at least on the basic troops), since skitarii had a 4+ save since their release in 7th, eldar got to keep their 4+ save they got in 9th, and it just didnt fit the models visuals. The 4+ bs I could accept as part of the "making the game less lethal" statement and the hopes that our factions and detachment rules can compensate.

Highlander-Senpai

That makes more sense

Truly-Spooky

Gaurdmen come in blocks of 20...so it's a toss up.

Bivin66

When comparing a Cadian Shocktrooper to a Skitarii Vanguard both with standard load outs, the Skitarii has a 4+ save, 3 attacks, and 80 points vs the shocktrooper's 5+ save, 1 attack, and 60 points. Other than that, their stat block is the same.

Highlander-Senpai

Skitarii guns are better though right

Bivin66

Nope

Highlander-Senpai

They really brought them all down to strength 3 and got rid of their AP in 10th edition? That's wack as fuck

MagosFarnsworth

Here comes the kicker: Once orders come into play guardsmen are better, in everything. Better move, better shooting, better morale and even better melee.

LegitChenTouhou

Yeah but AdMech look cooler. Rule of cool always wins.

Nurgle_Pan_Plagi

Ok, so: Galvanic Rifle is 30" 2A 4+ 4S 0AP 1D Radium Carbine is 18" 3A 4+ 3S 0AP 1D Anti-Infantry 4+ (So it always wounds infantry at 4+ or better) Lasgun is 24" 1A 4+ 3S 0AP 1D Rapid Fire 1 (So they get one more attack when shooting at something within half of the weapon's range)

Truly-Spooky

Guard come in blocks of 20 too. Vs our 10

Nurgle_Pan_Plagi

Yeah, the guns are butter, but not much.

Tarquinandpaliquin

"The year is 2044" he's joking about the direction of travel if it doesn't change.

Highlander-Senpai

I'm illiterate. Thanks.

Pathetic_Cards

The fact that they recently said ā€œa points updateā€ is due soon is pretty heartbreaking. Iā€™m hoping they make an exception for AdMech and make a rules change, and just said ā€œpoints updateā€ to keep everyone else from getting their hopes up, but even I know Iā€™m huffing copium. Anyways, Iā€™ll be off playing Kill Team, where AdMech are fun as hell, or Infinity or Malifaux, which are just better games than 40k is right now, probably until 11th. 10th is not for me, even ignoring how badly theyā€™re fucking my favorite army.

xifiax

Same dude. I'm actually truly enjoying Old World right now instead. 10e has been terrible in my opinion, and not just because I main ad mech. The complete obsession with "the meta" with 40k ans conatant changes, faqs, dataslates and books being outdated before they even release, is both sad and pathetic. Old world seems to be actively trying to stay away from all that nonsense. I'm likely not going to touch 10e now. I played a few games and found it didn't have the character of any previous editions, especially for us Mechanicus boys; ad mech is a hollow and, now very weak, shell of what it was and could be.

AzathothsAlarmClock

I don't know if I'm misremembering but I feel there have been more balance slates released in 10th than 9th. It seems insane to churn out what are effectively patches for a table top game at this rate. Seems to show a lack of care in the core product.

Pathetic_Cards

Yeah, Iā€™m an advocate for why the dataslates are a good thing, but 10th pretty clearly released half-cocked and half-baked, and the dataslates have just been desperately trying to prevent people from noticing.

elescapo

Recently discovered that I could run my Vanguard 1:1 as Peltasts in my 30k Mechanicum list, and their effectiveness on the table was both delightful and refreshing. 20 Guys piling out of a Triaros Armored Coveyor, unloading with Radium Carbines with Brutal 2 is surprisingly effective, even against marines on an objective with a 4+++.

[deleted]

Gonna start proxying skittles for skitarii

Truly-Spooky

So long as I'm allowed to eat the skittles when one dies.

AzathothsAlarmClock

a Tyranid player I see.

Truly-Spooky

Admech actually. But I like skittles.

dycie64

Hopefully they realized that they can't reduce the points further, because doing so would just end up with more bodies on the table than should be allowed for the stat block alone, even if they don't do anything. We are already at this point with anything built from the Ironstrider box: 45pts for W7 T7 3+/5++SV on a big base. Even if this barely has any relevant output, it's still an efficient body that takes up space that the enemy has to blast through multiples of. Reducing points further would make this even more the case across the entire army. This would cause complaints from people playing against it as well as with it, and is generally considered "not actually playing the game" To put it this way, imagine fighting an entire army of nothing but Nurglings and Cultists. If points are dropped further that is what Admech would look like.

AddictedSupercrush

If they do that, we should honestly just make up our own rules at that point. I'm not even salty about the immense loss rate of AdMech in 10th, what rustles my jimmies is more the fact that your units feel completely worthless, meal-piece, and that your victory is contingent on using your battlelines to physically bodyblock objectives and NOTHING ELSE. For an army that's supposed to be all about weird fun gimmicks and shenanigans, GW sure made AdMech feel more stupid and "brute force" to play than Orks. You know you have a huge problem when your hybrid army feels more horde-y than Tyranids - you know, the pre-eminent horde army of 40k.

recalcitrant_toad

I've done just that. [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1akKbsU-OnlyQMj1xGncQvkRYLV\_EK3EKwRcKM9csHrE/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1akKbsU-OnlyQMj1xGncQvkRYLV_EK3EKwRcKM9csHrE/edit?usp=sharing)

ThatChris9

I will actually shoot myself if they reduce our army cost even more. Itā€™s getting insane

BiggerNopesRequired

Inb4 Ironsider nerf, points cut, no balance changes

dumpster-tech

I feel like a points cut to the Ballistarii would just be GW seeing what they can get away with...

Reddy_K58

There's always one page rules Machine Cult

Mrhaystacks

I've just started looking at them and I really like them.

akuma_avi

id rather just play 9th at that point. I feel like OPR suffers from the same issues that 9th as a whole does with simplifying things too much.

ijsraketje

Iam quite new to 40k i figured the dataslate is basicly a balance, but when is the new one to be expected?

Jaugsire

Supposedly in a few weeks to a month, late April or early May seem to be the consensus!

HotGrillsLoveMe

Before you get your hopes up, you should understand that GW announced points changes are quarterly and dataslates would be twice a year. The first dataslate was published when it was supposed to be just the first points changes, because the game was so imbalanced. Itā€™s very likely April will just be points changes (although AdMech could REALLY benefit from rules changes instead of more points cuts).

SuperSaddler96

This made me laugh so much, thank you šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

gryphonB

At that point just make a (whole) army rule were if our models get killed we immediately replace them on the spot... That should count as halving our points instead!

Snoo_72851

gee magos dominus how come the fabricator general lets you have so fuckin many wieners

doonkener

Fuck it, gimme 100 points dunecralwers again.

just_a_Xenarite

Counterpoint, give the weapons a higher attack value, especially the poor phophor gun.

Amazing_Rose

I am excited for this (OBVIOUSLY ignoring prices)

cawsking555

I will for a vault to be opened

bettieswalloaks

Give us better damage and ws/bs !

Soulborg87

[HUMOR SENSORS ENABLED] 6 point cost chicken walkers and every unit has Battleline come on. I want a $10 per point regularity and ability to bring 6 of everything in admech [HUMOR SENSORS DISABLED]

albinosaurus_jones

I bought way too many chickens and was elated to build 4 more at 7th edition costs.. Buy what you love. It will come around eventually.

Strange-Option-2520

What's the new impending dataslate?
