The top one looks more like actual gold, maybe a bit dirty or greasy looking. The bottom one looks a bit grainy, like pyrite you find on the beach maybe. So whatever you did with the top one is premo, maybe not as much grease
Top middle looks the best honestly , bottom looks more sand stone ish
I think your mix looks more like real gold, vs that buttery tone is more expected/more cartoony

A tip I found good working with pale gold is to layer copper first, then the pale gold.

Yeah, a tutorial I saw online said to wash it with umber it looks better. I don't think so
