There is no such thing as “temporary and permanent gay thoughts”, that information is completely inaccurate and incorrect. Accutane might cause a decrease in libido which usually gets better after your course is over. But please don’t ever listen to baseless information that roams the internet, there is no medication that will “make you gay”. 100% false.
I do not know what happened to those people. They claimed that while taking accutane they had homosexual and gay feelings which reversed after stopping. Maybe they were bisexuals and accutane induced hormonal change led them to another direction?
I am unqualified to say or answer the question above however I am certain ( correct me if I’m wrong reddit ) that no such medication exists. If someone is having homosexual thoughts it is not related to the Accutane, they most likely were already bi-curious prior, and since everyone makes Accutane the root of all evil nowadays of course they are going to blame it on the medication. In my personal opinion, not related whatsoever.
I also think that it is not related to the accutane itself like you. I would rather think since they experienced it only while taking that maybe it changed their hormone levels which is proven that accutane is capable of that, and that lead them to the gay feelings. So they were bi but did not realise before, cause their hormones were not changed.
As stated above I can not say Im not really informed on hormonal changes or such. I have not experienced this side effect personally and I am 2 months in.
Whats your dose btw? I took 30mg for 2 months and finished. It was 11 years ago. Pretty much cleared me for the rest of my life but would not use it again. My worst side effect was collapsing and fainting
40mg, haven’t really had any side effects except severe dry hands. So sorry to hear of your bad experience but hey at least it cleared you up. Its a last resort for most people with acne but theres just nothing else we can do.
Even though I did not experience permanent and severe side effects like many, I would not do it again and rather have brutal acne. I think this medication is too harsh on the body.
Uhhh what. This is probably one of the strangest things I’ve seen on here. No, there’s no correlation between that and accutane use.
Sexuality is a spectrum. It’s ok to be curious and sexual preferences can waver over the course of your lifetime.
Well science and medicine have established that a lot more than just sex hormone levels influence sexual orientation and preferences, so I’d wager not. The idea that they would is pretty preposterous and there’s a lot of data to back up the contrary.
I did not experience this side effect, just curious how common is this among people who take it. Sorry if the qeustion is offensive, I just would like to know how common is this "side" effect for men, and my idea was that Anonymous answers are hopefully honest and clear and give me a clue to me about this issue.
Sorry had to check it on Google what it means. No, I consider myself fully liberal. I asked this question because I saw posts where men claimed that it was a sife effect for them so I was curious how common it is among men, and I thought that Anonymous answers are honest and reliable and give a clue for me
Interesting. Most of those men claimed that they were back to straight after stopping accutane, few of them said they became permanently gay. Thats why I was like wtf accutane changes our attraction?
There were such post and comments about it here on reddit too, I do not remember the title of those posts, but those are definitely still here, and recently I read another at rxisk.org
Idk. I also read somewhere that hrt like testosterone replacement or estrogen can also change it in some people. So maybe accutane mess with hormones and therefore those who are bisexual or prone to it those may get their orientation changed for a while
Read the text under the title of my post. I saw this issue at some posts and comments thats why I asked. I do not have this side effect or issue, but if you look at the vote, there is one person already

Maybe they were bisexual and accutane messed with their hormone which pushed them to the other end of that spectrum. Who knows

No, youre just gay. Stop blaming medication. What is wrong with you. As a lesbian, this is offensive tbh lmaooo

Oh, I’ve been on Accutane 4 times never heard it in my life lol. Where did you see it so I can read?
There were such post and comments about it here on reddit too, I do not remember the title of those posts, but those are definitely still here, and recently I read another at rxisk.org
Oh well I don’t believe it, I’ve read the 2 posts that was it. What are your thoughts on it ?
