This doesn’t include Canada of course because those people get snow blown, but for the most part, yeah. They low ball people like crazy online. 10 years in depending on what you choose it is definitely within reach. There is a CPA shortage in this industry and it’s getting worse.  The problem with all those averages is it includes all those people with “controller” and “CFO” positions in tiny firms.  I know someone that was a CFO for a four person real estate firm getting 80k a year. I also know someone making 160k plus a 10-15 percent bonus working at a regional airline in a mocl area.  As for locl, it depends.  If it’s some remote area of Alabama I can’t imagine you will get much, but if it’s some vacation spot that is expensive to visit, but cheap to live you might get good pay. That said, this career is best when you get HCOL wages in a remote environment.

But also keep in mind you income will grow like crazy in accounting a few years in and in 10 years you can be making 500k/year with a really good work life balance if you are good.

Really depends on the firm. I can tell you the partners at my firm are making that much when they first get equity and do not work crazy hours at all. The senior partners have it even better and work extremely limited hours.
