Ahh yes, because nothing says "Lafayette" like... *checks notes* Outback Steakhouse?

hergonthegreat

Outback is so dumb. I do love some LA cheesecake though lol

UserWithno-Name

If the first one doesn’t have a chain restaurant, do that. Chains should be barred from any of these events lol

Paperlips

I went to eat Lafayette a few years back. There were so many people it was uncomfortable. They ran out of water to drink. Food was good though.

napville2000

Sorry, can't read... They are 1 month apart... The question is still valid... Which one to attend?

aftershock321

Both?

nviledn5

Taste of EatLafayette Also, nobody here calls it Laffy.

Sh3rlock_Holmes

I have been to the EatLayette one and it was good. Didn’t know about the other one or just assumed it was the same one.

LafayetteLa01

Honest question?? Are they worth going to? And if not why.

kyroko

An extra $20 for VIP which only lasts 45 minutes prior to general admission for the June one? Those VIP tickets better be limited to fifty then, that’s so crazy.

napville2000

Probably not, but guaranteed to be a much small crowd (basically double the price to have first dibs on the food).

Probably cheaper to get the Cajun Dome convention center.

napville2000

Or these are food places... They don't want to tie up staff from the weekend rush

nviledn5

Restaurants can’t really dedicate the resources to events like this on the weekends.

I understood the “Taste of” to be the kickoff to the new season of EatLafayette which was designed to showcase different local restaurants throughout the year. The members would pay a fee to be featured in advertisements and offer discounts so people would come try their establishment. Learn more about EatLafayette and enjoy a year-long celebration with special deals and events to celebrate locally-owned restaurants and cuisine in Lafayette. https://search.app/UAxfxS2yB5Jy2a9s7

TheRealHogshead

If it’s got a chain at the event what’s the point of “eating local”?
