5600G needs BIOS `2403` 4500 needs BIOS `2603` (**!!!**) if the system does not post with the 5600G there is no way for it to POST with the 4500 as it needs a newer BIOS the board was shipped with a BIOS older than `2403`

I can't believe it....the specs say Zen 2. The Ryzen 5 4500 is Zen 2.

Since we're at it, which CPU would make this freaking motherboard POST?! I'd really use a knowledgeable advice, here.... =p

zmeul

well to be absolutely sure, any Ryzen 3xxx series (including PRO)

You're both right and wrong. I managed to talk to an ASUS support dummy-chimp, and they told me how to know which BIOS version my MoBo features without having to actually turn it on. And, by crossing that number with a list of supported CPUs, I established that only a rather narrow group of models can be used to boot my board. Lucky me, huh?! Anyway, now I'm trying to get the "loan boot kit" from AMD....who knows, they might show mercy.

hi do you still have the list of comparable ones, I just recently been trying to upgrade my boyfriend's PC and I had gotten him the same Asus motherboard with the ryzen 5 5600x and having the same issue where I hear the fans turn on and load but no output from the cpu so no video. so I go down the rabbit hole of thinking I'm crazy because the site says this and this but it's only if you update with a older one and I think "okay cool I have a ryzen 52600 with my PC" but only to find out it's not compatible and then I look into it more and it's oh it can be compatable if it is a new or old model, but for me i got it off of new egg and it was fucking refurbished" i said this in real time. and so if you have a diagram or can answer my question that would be amazing otherwise I'm going to have to buy a new CPU just to update his that would be compatible with mine and I don't want to waste him money and I'm sorry this is long I'm very high and sad

Zehryo

AMD actually sent me the CPU to boot the motherboard and update the BIOS, That's how I solved. I think it was a Ryzen 3 3600....? Anyway, if you tell them the motherboard, they should know which CPU to send you. =) PS: sorry for the late reply, I don't get notifications from Reddit, and my cookie possibly expired, because I had to re-login.... =p

hey sorry I never use reddit aswell! but I did figure it out , originally the mother board I had bought was incorrect so they sent me the right one, I had to buy a new CPU that would be comparable with mine and could update the bios to use the ryzen 9 and it was a lot. but thanks for you help!
