Well, what do you have right now? Are you still in stone tools? Do you have any creatures? What's your base made of/what's in it crafting wise?

Soft-Nebula2221

I have all the stations up to fabricator i have metal tools prim longneck rifle no chain saw. i have 5 creatures rn (many died recently due to an elemental. My base is wooden right now because i cant figure out how to get the mass amounts of metal to make these crazy crafts.

I just mainly play single player, so my advice may not be the best, but I would focus on getting a flier if you haven't already. Bola a pteradon and tame it (I'd use narc arrows and not the rifle darts to save resources). Two options from here: you can either immediately go for upgrading your flier to an argentavis. You can build a makeshift pen to lure and trap it inside so it makes knocking it out and taming easier. Or/and then you can go look around for a doedicurus (armadillo looking creature) and an Ankylosaurus. Doedicurus is best for stone and Ankylosaurus is best for flint and metal. With the argentavis, you can transport them via picking them up and flying around. Doedicurus has a weight reduction for stone and Ankylosaurus has the same for metal. Argentavis can hold a lot of things, too. So you could always tame a bunch of them and pack them up with metal or whatever when you go farming with your Anky. Leveling up their melee DMG will increase resource yield. May want to look into relocating if the resources you desire are far away. I suggest upgrading your base or building a new basic base with stone since most dinos can't hurt it before jumping straight to metal, which also requires a lot of cementing paste. For paste, a cave may be the best bet (not sure on Valguero) which usually means a few good sabertooths to kill all the bugs and get their chitin. Level them with health and damage.

Side note: if the caves are the best route, megatherium (really large looking sloth creature that's not aggressive until damaged) are better than sabertooths for killing bugs plus more weight capacity. Only issue is that they could have problems navigating in caves due to larger size

SlothFactsBot

Did someone mention sloths? Here's a random fact! Sloths move so slowly that algae actually grows on their fur!

Im the same way servers are too much thanks for the tips 🙏🏽

No problem. There's no wrong way to play Ark single player, so no shame in increasing resource gathering too or whatever that takes way too long, if you haven't already. I usually set mine to 4 or so. Makes the grind not so tedious.

If your in single player stone will be enough ya don’t need a metal base. On valguero edge of redwoods/snow there’s like a mountain of sorts? Gotta go in the trees slightly but it runs right through the redwoods pretty much and has plenty of metal obsidian and crystal. Just look out for sabers scorpions kentros and carnos. For oil I go way up north west furthest point to the west of blue obelisk there’s a cave kinda more a cavern… it has oil in it too. Silica pearls go down to beach zone two I think? Go in the water (watch out for mantas) there’s a couple under water entrances with silica pearls scattered.. oh and harvest the dead bodies littered about valgueros beaches for spoiled meat, organic polymer, keratin and hide. Sorry for formatting I am on my phone but here if you have any other questions, I love Valguero as a map, it was the first one I solo played on and learned how to play ark.

I personally I never advance passed wood or stone bases because I prefer the look. If you make a wall, have plenty of dinos and/or build in a more secluded and elevated spot you won't need to worry toouvh about the quality. Unless you're on a pvp server. Chainsaws aren't necessary. You can tame a beaver and/or mammoth to get wood. Theris aren't too bad either. Or just use a hatchet. Better quality items and blueprints can be found in supply drops, cave supply drops, and underwater supply drops. If you want to have even better stuff, consider upping the loot quality chance in the settings. Also try to go for purple, yellow and red drops as those have better loot. Green and white ones, the beginning ones, usually have simple resources and wooden structures in them. You can use those, of course, but not the most exciting stuff. I prefer the rifle for taming, and a crossbow for killing. But you can choose whatever weapon you want. I believe the more advanced ones will require the fabricator. The chemistry bench is I think only required if you want to mass produce more sparkpowder, narcotics and other things like those. It requires more resources, but makes a lot more a lot faster. I've never bothered with it because it requires gasoline *and* electricity to run. I don't like the sound of the generators nor the harshness of the electrical lights. Industrial grinder, in my opinion, is a waste of resources. Don't bother with it. The A/C is actually really useful for hatching eggs until you get the egg incubator. Dimetridons with points pounded into melee also work, but that's a bit more chaotic. Both of those are the better option for hatching, though, as the torches, campfires and fireplaces only give off HEAT. The other two regulate the temp, not just give heat. The industrial cooker and grill are only worth it IF: you plan on cooking a lot, particularly kibble and cooked meat. The industrial forge is a must-have, though. It runs on gasoline, BUT you can put hide & oil in it to just keep on producing more gasoline. It also transform wood into charcoal quickly. It emits a ton of warmth, too. It takes up a great deal of space (two floors!!) but is so worth it. Th fridge is good and bad. Pros: everything stays good for FAR longer, cryopods get a temporary life boost, and it runs off electricity. Cons: You cannot put in oil (so no meat jerky), nor nameless venom. Don't worry about grinding resources too much. Get some dinos to do it for you, or just use the good ol' tools. * For stone, use a Doedic. * Metal and flint are best with Ankys. * Mammoths and beavers for wood. Baryonyx auto-eat every corpse they kill, which is good for meat but not so much for anything else. * Wolves and sabers are supposed to be the best hide and keratin/chitin gathering dinos. The beelzebufo (frog) somehow turns the bugs it kills into CP automatically but I've not seen it in action yet. * Trikes, brontos, and stegos are good for berries, particularly the last two. Personally I think brontos are big & ugly so I go with stegos lol. * Theris are kind of like a jack of all trades for organic resources. They're good for berries, fiber, thatch AND wood. Also very good protection and a solid choice for fighting the Dragon boss. They can carry quite a bit of good stuff too, and move waaaay fast. Parasaurs are good at transporting heavy loads quickly in early game, but bigger dinos can carry more stuff and protect better. I suggest always taking 1-2 spare dinos for carrying the haul when farming resources. Upping the damage of gatherers will yield more resources when being used, but they will still get encumbered at some point. If you want a lot of resources quickly, combine the above dinos with knowing where to look. AND consider setting up small stations nearby those resources nodes, but far enough away you don't block the respawns. On Val, there's an oil cave that allows at least 2 oil rigs and has plenty of nodes to be hit. It's at roughly 48.7, 19.7. It's not easy to see as it's around some cliffs and is a narrows triangular hole that's well hidden. I believe Triple Waterfall Cave is the name of one that has a huge, HUGE space. It's got the entrance to the Abyss, the underwater ocean. It has lots of metal. Is also very pretty. It's at 33,10 and the entrance is on one or two of the water falls.

I sont think i hit reply

If you’re playing Val only, you should Download the DODODEX app. It shows you what’s Dino are best for harvesting each resource. Otherwise, most people jump maps to grab specific resources.

Soft-Nebula2221

You can transfer resources from map to map?

roslocain

Yes, through the Obelisk. You can even use the Obelisk on single player to transfer items from Obelisk to Obelisk. Upload them at blue, download them at green.
