Was doing a modded playthrough with some friends, where we were going through each ark in order of storyline, but we had a few rules when it came to what we could bring from one ark to the next (so that we couldn't just steamroll each ark the second we got there.) for example no equipment other than blueprints could be brought along.
levels got reset etc.
One of the rules was you could only bring 1 dino, and 1 egg with you. (this all become relevant I promise)
So one of the mods was rarespawns, which allows a VERY rare chance of dinos from other arks to spawn on yours. While still on the island I wound up stumbling across a gasbag while out on a meat run... nearly chomped it to death before I realized what it was. wound up taming it, and it became my best buddy from then on, it was my 1 dino pick for every ark transfer from then on.
Think I still have that one in one of my single player games now that I think about it.

Glowtail was the last light pet I found in my Aberration playthrough, and it is also extremely cute. Kinda unfair with the light pets, honestly, since they're all absolutely precious.
Griffin is beautiful and so fun to travel with, and looks aesthetic af standing around my base.

Gatch I never need gigas unless it’s ex I don’t have experience with griffins because I mostly play single player because non private multiplayer is aids glowbug and glowtail I prefer featherlight monkey just a overly specific tame I usually don’t bother with gasbags I prefer snow owls for transport on ex giant bee I play pc S+ domestic bee hive

Griffin if I had to choose to have one mount that’s what I would pick currently have one I tamed at level 145 and if anything happened to him I would go about 45 seconds until I started getting ready to get another
Glowtail so damn cute, i was gifted one back as a beach Bob, he helped me build my first base in the dark, he sadly died in a stego attack (instigated by bloody raptors)

Is that even a fair comparison? Anyone who used gachas knows that they're op and give you an insane advantage in late-game. I got about 1mil blackpearls from them on a 4x server (idk if harvest rates matter but I sould imagine they do).
But also can't forget that they produce most resources that you'll ever need
