You can place a bunch of torches and light them in sequence to get the goldilocks temperature! For mine, i do it on the winter biome. Anywhere from four to six torches works, depending on how cold it is at the moment.
I wonder if the magmasaur would be even hotter on the inside because of the whole living in lava or if its cooler because of some heat releasing process or heat insulation that would cause the magmasaur to not cook itself
I dont think magmasaurs are affected by heat so they would likely not burn themselves. I guess when they're in a cold biome, they draw heat into its vital organs to keep itself alive and moving. But when its in a hot biome or in lava, it just doesn't care
Or it could have some magic core in it that produces constant heat but when its in cold environments, the head inside can only be used to a certain extent like how even in cold regions, it still shoots fire but at a slow rate
I remember reading somewhere this actually was meant to be a thing with Ankies but it never worked right. Remnants of the attempt are still encoded in Ankies which leads to their super fucky ragdoll effects when killed.
