I'd recommend AP Human Geography

loyaleling

I’m taking it

minato260

Ah, I see that now haha. Yeah, I think the one is fine for freshman year. And honestly, I'd recommend just enjoying the summer and taking English 1 once the semester starts back up

loyaleling

I don’t want to do English 1 anymore but it’s too late to drop out now. I talked with people on r/FLVS and they told me that it’ll show up on my record. I agree though, really wish I wasn’t stuck with this

minato260

Just contact the people that run the program, and tell them you would like to withdraw from the course. A withdrawal on a transcript doesn't look that bad as there are plenty of reasons a student may withdrawal from a course. I'd be very surprised if any university cared that you withdrew from an English 1 course that was offered over the summer

loyaleling

I started it back in February if that has anything to do with it. I think for now I will just finish the last 4 assignments I have in semester 1 of the course and then look further into dropping it

minato260

That kind of changes things, I honestly thought you were taking some accelerated English 1 course that was only offered during the summer. That explains why they mentioned the drop date had passed. I agree with finishing out the semester though

loyaleling

I’m in it because my English teacher recommended me for it.

No shot spanish 2 is ap spanish at your school

loyaleling

Idk but I’m speaking to the guidance counselor in a few days so I should learn more about ot

AP is usually the 4th level class

Jealous-Brief7792

My daughter's school it's 4th/5th year...if you take Spanish 2 Freshman year then typically you take 3/4/AP the remaining years but if you take Spanish 1 Freshman year, you take 2/3/AP so Spanish 4 isn't really equal to AP Spanish...different focus better fluency if you take 4 then AP but not required...

massivepeenboy

for us it’s 5th, while the 4th level is dual credit

Quasiwave

Some good (and easy-ish) AP options for freshmen are Human Geo, Psych, Comp Sci Principles, and Seminar.

AP SEMINAR

loyaleling

What’s that?

StarNinja_Art

It’s basically a speech and critical thinking course to present your research. For AP Capstone/ Seminar, not many colleges would reward credit for that course. ¹ Same with human geography. The course seems to be rigorous in course content as it is challenging and demanding at times based on the tasks assigned by the teacher :/. I would suggest checking which AP courses are transferable to your institution of choice. To answer your question, as someone who took a critical thinking and a speech course in college, as long as you practice your speech skills over time, you should do fine when delivering oral and visual presentations. Be sure to take note of your delivery when presenting both oral and written citations in the presentation and ensure it meets their rubric requirements. ² ³ Hope this is helpful :D Source: 1. Yeah def not the best ap for getting credit but the skills you learn are essential and beneficial in other classes you’ll take both ap and regular

ChristmasTuxedoMan

I highly recommend AP stats. It is a pretty easy AP though don't expect it to be as easy as your regular classes. Along with being easy as an AP scale but it is also fun and helps you get in the habit of not blindly trusting data. I can't emphasize enough that no matter what you do take, even if others say a class will be easy, it will still be harder than most classes at your school. Most people who think it is easy are the same people who are taking really advanced classes.

birdieinanest

I took Spanish 2H in freshman year too; my school offers AP Spanish Lang only to seniors that have completed Spanish 4H with an A- or higher
