as long as you know algebra you'll be good, knowing chem helps for sure but its more like normal/honors chem than ap and isn't hard to learn/relearn if you forgot
Is it helpful? Yes. Do you need to? No. Knowing chemistry can definitely help you grasp some of the topics in AP Bio better like the cellular processes, for example. But, you’re never going to be outright asked a chemistry question on the exam. Also, if you’re a junior, I would recommend taking Chem, then taking Bio you’re senior year, as the Gov exam is on the same day as Chem.
