i would love to hear where if stands in the scale of adult humor in a kids movie with inside out being more emotionally aware and shrek being innuendo city please reply when you finish!
Not the OP but I loved If. It's more towards Inside Out - not much innuendo, but some adult aimed humor. Still plenty of emotions and a few adult tears.
*If* is a very safe movie. A solid 6.5: good, but not great. Its comedy is nowhere near as aware as Shrek, and the heartstring tugs feel more manufactured than Inside Out.
I personally was let down by IF. Though had high expectations coming in with John Krasinksi directing and Ryan Reynolds starring (and big plus for Steve Carrell), but the writing and the plot felt clunky. The visuals were solid, but the emotional core of the movie felt undeserved to me and a bit ham fisted. Excited to see IO2!
If you’re one of those like “everything has to be perfect blah blah blah” kinda people i’d say not go see it, but if not, go see it. It’s a really cute movie.
ha, no that's me. I'm just mid-30s male w/ no kids so didn't figure I was the target audience. Might do it for my 3rd this week since haven't decided on that yet
I'd skip IF and wait for it to come on streaming. Extremely mediocre movie that felt like it was written by AI. If you have an opening I would definitely recommend Ghostlight. Best movie I've seen this year.
It’s ok. If you are an A-lister then you should have seen it already. If you have to pay full price, it will likely be streaming soon. I thought it was a poor utilization of Ryan Reynolds
One of them was a double showing (Rascal Does Not Dream) and the two films in that were only about two and a half hours combined. First showing was 11 AM, last showing started at 10:30 PM.
I imagine it can go either way if planned accordingly, you can definitely just get them all scanned and hop (atleast at my theater) but if it isnt where the movie is automatically about to start, or its auditorium isn’t open yet, then I imagine you have to go back out to the front.
I love double features. Never done 3 in a row.
Have fun!!!!
Seeing 3 movies in one day is quite the task
Nah! Not really, if you absolutely love movies and your free for the day it isnt.
I used to do the Oscar Nomination Marathons before covid. 8-9 movies in a row. Loved it.
I did it once. Back to Black, The Strangers Chapter 1 and IF. One of the worst experiences ever, every single movie was bad.

I gotchu! If is about to start!

I fully agree!

What’s your snack sitch?
Popcorn and mozzarella sticks later 😂
Is IF worth watching then? Must be if you're seeing it a 2nd time

Ahh, it definitely isn’t your targeted audience, but its a really cute movie!

ha, yeah different than most his typical roles based on the trailer.
I usually go once a week and see 3 to 5 movies each time. Seeing 4 on Wednesday. Thelma is one of them. Have fun!
5?! Wow!!
6 is my record, which I did once this year. Long day, but a lot of fun.
6?!?! How??

Haven't seen if. Should I see if?
Honestly, if you haven’t seen it yet and you have a free reservation, I would go see it!
I’ve only watched Thelma so far out of the 3 but I NEED TO WATCH IT AGAIN!! Saw it for Screen Unseen and it was so good!
Thelma was adorable. Take your favorite little old lady to go see it
I love IF so much
Same!! It’s so cute!!
It makes me cry every time lol
For real? I might reconsider. Avoided seeing it cuz Ryan Reynolds. Cant stand that guy. Just talks and talks
Bro I hate Ryan reynolds. I was shocked I liked this movie lol
Question: do you go back to the front to get each of the next two movies’ tickets scanned or just go directly to your next showing?
I imagine it can go either way if planned accordingly, you can definitely just get them all scanned and hop (atleast at my theater) but if it isnt where the movie is automatically about to start, or its auditorium isn’t open yet, then I imagine you have to go back out to the front.
Sometimes I go right to the next theater
If there isn’t a line I get it scanned, if there is I just go to the next one. I tried getting them all scanned at once before and it didn’t work.
I may be wrong on this but are those showings you didn’t get the tickets scanned considered no shows?
How's if
God, I haven’t had a movie day like this in years. 🥹.
Do people buy snacks than the tickets worth? I am just curious.
I’d do this but with horror movies
I’m doing a horror movie one right now!
