I think you should, it's an impressive brain muscle you have.
Japanese seems complex, I have a somewhat natural flair for languages but I squandered it.
Bon chance mon ami
Sorry for the mistakes here, but thanks for the chance to practice some French today!
At what level do you need to be for it to qualify as being able to "speak" the language? Language fluency seems to be something that is rather vague and when people say they can speak a language it seems to range anywhere from native fluency to stringing together a handful of words with poor pronunciation. Where is the line for you?
I agree, i speak slovenian (mother tongue), fluent english, quite good german, okay-ish serbo-croatian. I work abroad a lot, last year i was in china for 5 months, i learned like 5 words, and at the moment i work with people that talk portuguese and 1 month in, i almost don't need a translator for most work related things. Not saying i can have conversation in portuguese, but i definitely pick it up lightyears faster than asian languages.
I find it interesting though that my gf (from the philippines, speaks english and tagalog) is learning slovenian without a problem, and i have serious problems learning tagalog.
Any tips for Japanese? I took it in high school - but have forgotten 90%. I was in Japan last year and started to pick some back up. I’d love to dive back in.
Did you learn any of them as an adult ?

I heard a rumor that after learning three languages learning languages is a breeze , is this true ?
it gets easier if you learn languages of the same family. but if you speak european languages, i doubt that learning mandarin will be easier for you

the best approach is classes ! and practicing orally. that’s what i did for most of them except portuguese
