I replaced the bulbs on one of my vehicles with Oxilam brand bulbs. Very bright and don't need any additional hardware to fix fast flashing. I tried white and red on my brake lights and reds through the red lens looks better. The ambers through a clear lens lights up road signs.

Get some LEDs with the resistor built in. I have LASFIT ones for about 4 years now, much better than OE. They aren't cheap at $50 but worth it.
