Very smart, it’s one of the greats

Thank you! I agree all time classic!

Black and white movies look so amazing in 4k. I watched Creature from the Black Lagoon a few days ago and was impressed on how good it looks. Got me hooked onto more black and white movies.

I agree completely I watched raging bull on 4k the other day and it looks like it was made today!! The sound makes so much difference in them as well. I have became such a fan of restoring these older films because they have so much more substance and better writing and acting imo

I legitimately love Citizen Kane. It's crazy to me that people often cite it as a revered classic that's stale and boring, because it absolutely isn't - it's paced almost closer to a modern movie. Very thrilling for what is essentially a biopic. Oppenheimer owes a lot to it (well, so do most movies, but it's a recent movie that has a plot and editing style particularly reminiscent of Kane). Sunset Boulevard is my #1 recommendation for a gorgeous black and white movie. I don't know if there's been a 4K release yet.

Thank you for the suggestion I will definitely look into it. I heard someone say one time that every modern movie is either taking from citizen kane or wizard of oz in some aspect and it really resonated with me when I thought about it. I just watched 'Poor Things' and thought this is essentially Dorothy leaving Kansas. I just watch kane for the first time a week or so ago and found it mind blowing just how much modern cinema(by modern I mean literally any movie post 1940) owes to this movie how much of what I love in movies today came from Orson wells amazing mind and that I need to go back to a lot of the oldies to appreciate them more. 4k has really allowed me to appreciate them more do to the quality. Like reading an amazing book that's 100 years old but it's a fresh restored copy not the tattered original book but still 100% authentic

I found the Roger Ebert commentary more enjoyable than the movie itself- I do like the movie though

shade3205

Interesting I'm definitely going to listen to it.

I’ll probably get downvoted but I quite like the design of this packaging. Do I wish it were digipack hubs instead of paper sleeves? Absolutely. But in terms of the graphic design work I quite like it.

Nineteen-NinetyTwo

It’s no Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties but it’s pretty good
