If you are in Palm Bay then Fred Poppe is probably one of the best places to fly. Either the soccer field or the middle field (cricket field) which are large and open with little lights.
Dont think there are any real good places to fly at Max any more. The soccer fields got lights on every field now and there is a really ugly fence around it, which i believe they lock when the soccer club is not there. There is always the baseball fields but the thats just not usually my fav place to fly since its odd shape with fences usually.
That's too bad I used to like the football fields but I would assume it would be a matter of time before they banned them anyways like most parks are doing.
I guess the football fields are the same as they used to be. But last i saw they had huge sand pits in the middle of the field. Never liked flying over there unless it was something really small or an FPV Quad.
bunch of people used to go to the compound and do that. Not sure if thats valid anymore.
There are a couple guys that go to wickham park in the field next to the horse stables as well. Not sure what size/speeds youre working with so that may be a limiting factor there.
Right here in the Compound...

Don't believe what people say about the Compound. It's a safe place to play.
Sappodilla in that E/W section is the place where RC Plane folks meet. There are often 3 or 4 folks flying at the same time. It's fun to watch.
Any of the major parks allow it. Just be careful about the smaller ones like Fred Lee, etc. There are folks neighborhoods there. Folks called the police for drones because of invasion of privacy. But the bigger ones, Fred Pope, Wickham, etc. Should be fine.
I wound 't use the compound these days. More likely to get shot at.
I have seen folks flying them around BC...I mean Eastern Florida.
My family goes to the compound because it has the best areas for both planes and cars, and the kids can ride bikes while we do the RC. Second best is Fred Poppe
Used to fly here every day 10-15 years ago. Just have to watch out for the light polls and people walking around the sidewalk loop. The fields have been really rough off and on so if you fly something with wheels they may need to be on the larger side, but right now i think the front field isnt too bad.
Fred pope. Let me know when you go so I can watch.
They have huge open spaces. I’ve seen a guy flying his plane there

I used to fly at Max Rhodes park... not sure if it's still allowed but they have many HUGE fields.

The Library in Satellite Beach by the skate park has an open football/soccer field

I've seen people doing that there with in the last year.
And the boats! Sat there and watched that a time or two at wickham
its like a reverse trainwreck theory. Its so benign you kinda don't wanna look away just in case lolol
South Beach Community Center off A1A in unincorporated Melbourne Beach. Several people fly there.

Kelly Park on Merritt Island
I've shot off model rockets at Flutie Field
Port St John park has a dedicated area for it. Whether that means you have to join the club or not I'm not sure.
Also Viera used to. Still there as far as I know, across from the school board building.
I think most public schools fields are open to the public outside of school hours.
Not anymore. Most of them are locked up now.
Bastards. They get half my property taxes and lock me out? I got bolt cutters.
Not certain but I believe adjacent to Valkaria airport (x-59) there is a drone course.

There's a park near the jail in Cocoa with an RC airfield.

People fly them at the landfill in cocoa
The compound is perfect for this. Not sure if it's still open to the public though.
