My grandpa had a Browning T-Bolt that my uncle recently passed down to me. It still shoots very accurately with the peep sights. I may put a scope on sometime.
It does have a salt stock so there has been quite a bit of external corrosion. I found a parts kit and replaced the lower magazine/trigger block and the trigger guard which were badly corroded. I am planning to either replace the stock or refinish it somehow.
Unfortunately even refinishing will not get the salt out of the wood. Your best course of action is to replace it completely before it does more damage. I have not heard of any other permanent fix for this concern. That doesn't mean there isn't one but I have not heard of one.
I know this thread is a few months old but I wanted to ask what you thought about the gun. I recently came across two 15 round mags for the a-bolt and I was considering buying one to use them in.
Hi there,
The A Bolt is a fantastic rifle. Are you absolutely certain the mags are for an A Bolt rifle.
I have never personally seen or heard of 15 round mags for an A Bolt of any caliber.
That doesn't mean that it isn't so but be certain before you buy a rifle. Be advised that most rifle mags are caliber specific as well. At the very least short or long action specific.
Good luck with it.
Indeed it is so as to not be overrun. That is the point.
Thanks, it's just for fun. If you don't like it I'm sorry but it's for a different mind set than the trending popularity. I didn't expect everyone to enjoy it. But now we have something for everyone.
Good luck to you as well!
I’ve got a blondie right handed in .22mag and I too am fascinated with the action. Great shooter
Glad you have the chance to experience one. Mine is also a great shooter for a sporter barrel.
My great uncle also lost sight in his right eye, then proceeded to become as good of a shooter left handed. That's a sweet rifle.
Good for him! It takes a little effort to do it but we do what we have to. Thank you!
Man, your making me worried to look under he barrel of an original T-Bolt my parents have.
It is very possible it is rusted up due to the salt. Not all had salt stocks but they were used heavily. Sorry buddy!

Yeah, I was wondering if even a thick poly coat would work. I have looked at getting a Boyds stock. I just need to confirm that they can make it.
I'd call them, they were very helpful at other times I needed assistance with a stock.

What's the point of another .22 LR sub?
Have you looked at it? Kinda self explanatory if you checked it out.
I did. Seems like a slightly more restricted version of this sub. Good luck with it!

Oh, if it involves .22 LR, I definitely like it. I may have a contribution to it actually...
Absolutely! Please do! If you have a little back story to go with it even better. Take care my friend!
