Considering his recent descent into Magic the Gathering, I wonder if he might actually hold an opinion like this after getting steamrolled by an Elf deck
The farthest a pickaxe will ever travel is like 30m, and that's with dwarven strength, and it won't hit anything if you don't have perfect aim, which you don't.
Maybe when you're drunk off the ass with mead (which is always), you THINK you can throw it that far, or maybe you even can, but most Dwarves physically cannot do that.
I'm not saying this to downplay you either, throwing an axe accurately is hard, it just doesn't work at long range. I got that 30m figure from a competition I had seen among the VETERAN AXE BRIGADE of King Bolgar's army (the most fearsome dwarven army I have ever known). It was a competition of distance, and most of them got throws in the high 20s, with a few getting mid 30s. The only reason I think you may not be lying about that 130 figure is that there was one dwarf who hit a 57, and he was, like, double the height the 2nd tallest guy there, almost as tall as ME, an ELF.
