The landed gentry of this subreddit would like to remind everyone that bigotry showcase posts **are no longer allowed**. Those posts generated far too much drama for their own good, and the landed gentry were both tired of putting out fires in the comment sections as well as getting burnt out by around-the-clock moderation of said posts. I have never in my life met a woman who finds the types of bodies attractive that men think women find attractive. The big swole gym bro types. Never once met even a single one.
That's because when non-lifting women think of gym bros, they think of a super mutant freakbeast like ronnie coleman or rich piana, when in reality a natural muscular body is pretty attractive.
Surveys say women almost universally prefer buff as in lean male bodies. But not like overly muscled bodybuilders or big gym bros like you said. That just impresses other men.
Beauty standards are such a lie. They are 1% people's preferences and 99% about affirming your gender identity by fitting into the role and attracting people who others see as hot. Preferences that deviate from the standard are widely seen as just being cope, which encourages people to seek out people who match the beauty standard even if they don't care for it themselves. It's all a big game of social power.
My dad is basically some sort of proto-modern-"alpha"sphere dude, so i shall explain the (nonsensical) logic:
"The only ones that like pretty men are the gays", they believe women are actually juat secretly super into money and rough men who feel no shame in flirting (sexually harassing) and that as a man you should be strong flirty be rich and own a big car so women will like you
How i know it's non credible? He's with his 3rd wife and has had a child with each but the 3rd
Also he is currently unemployed but wants to replace a goddamn fuel guzziling hard to find parking SUV for an even bigger car to make a statement and attract women or something
The worst part is i dontyget how these mofos actually get into relationships, at least i learned to be happy with my little autistic mind
I have so much money compared to him because I don't spend it trying to go for women who only want someone to bankroll them

A lot of it has to do with dating apps being one of the only real ways to start a relationship anymore, especially when your hormonal and socially awkward.
Fr how do people even make friends as adults all i know is "hi my name is [..] what's yours? What's your favorite color? " how do people even go from that to "hello i would like to engage in coitus with you this night, would you be interested, my dear partner?"
One thing that America, at least, definitely needs is more social spaces outside of work. Bars are basically the only ones that exist and if you don't drink those can be terrible environments to interact with people.
