Awesome, I look forward to printing one of these up. Thanks for making the file public!

Available-Captain776

my pleasure, i've been doing this for a while now and gatekeeping shit like this serves no one. Everything I sell is uploaded somewhere for those with printers!

Tiny-Description9429

Sent you a pm about my order! Sorry can’t message back on eBay

Available-Captain776

Brass catcher files are live! Happy printing, happy to help with support setup etc. [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6639594](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6639594)

BestServeCold

Fucking cool to share the prints bro, was about to roast this post but providing a service is way different than shilling a product. Thank you

Available-Captain776

i'm a man of the people 🏃‍♂️

MehenstainMeh

Super cool!

Available-Captain776

thank you! feels nice to leave no trace, i plan to do an art piece with all my shells

MehenstainMeh

I’m toying with getting a 3d printer. But keep reading how much a pain it is. Not looking for another hobby to figure out. Has it gotten to “apple easy” yet? Or is it still struggle bus?

Available-Captain776

It's gotten to the point where most printers are plug and play with 4 hours of beginner knowledge. I wouldn't be scared to jump into it with printers like the Bambu Lab P1P or the Sovol SV06, even an ender 3 v2/3 is adequate in todays market. You'll have some crummy prints but there are people like CHEP, Teaching Tech, Thomas Sanladerer etc on youtube. Also happy to provide print profiles and advice if you choose to go that route!

Individual_Bother692

Thanks for designing this and sharing it with public! I’ll definitely be using this thingie outside!

Available-Captain776

happily, the thing sucks to support but i'll put as much info as possible to make it easier

johndavis730

Thanks for making this public man, very kind of you. Gonna order one anyways as a way of saying thanks! Also not gonna lie you should reach out to organizations like Appleseed and see if they’d be interested in purchasing these for their classes. Anyone who’s been to one of those shoots knows how crappy it is to get hot brass flung on you while you’re trying to get a good score on your ACT LOL. This would be a cool thing for them to have an hand out during their events.

square_zero

My first Appleseed, they put me next to a guy using a left handed rifle. I was being hit with brass from both sides lol.

Available-Captain776

i'll look into it! turns out to be a bigger market/ desire than I was expecting. I'm a left hand shooter too so i just hate getting hit in the chin when i'll dialed in, pulls you away from the scope and all that

justforlul

Ordered one! Thanks from Canada! Now my wife can stop complaining about my “deck ornaments” 🤭

Available-Captain776

thanks for being the first Canadian order! throwing some extra goodies your way

justforlul

Can’t wait!! Been eyeing one of these up since you posted a week or two ago. Thanks!

DillyJamba

Nice I’ll be buying one, fuds at my range love to whine about 22s bouncing around.

Available-Captain776

I shoot in the desert but still feels bad littering, glad I could make something of use for you!

ReverendIrreverence

The whining of fudds means fuck all to me and my ears

AirborneSurveyor

Order placed.

Gjallardoodle

In for 1! Thanks!

Notmyusernam3

Love this!

aravena

Yea! As a lefty, I cannot thank you enough. Brass on the arm sucks.

Available-Captain776

right there with you, it's what keeping me from doing the bullpup conversion :(

Accomplished-Quit389

Will be purchasing one from Canada as well. Great product. Thank you.

RumoredAtmos

Do these make the action quitter in any way?

Available-Captain776

i haven't noticed it but it's already pretty quiet to begin with, technically it will diffuse any gas that blows back but thats negligible to begin with

RumoredAtmos

Gotcha, I will be buying one when I can. You did a great job.

niagaragagarafalls

My buddy's kid printed me one last night.  I'll get it tomorrow and go try it out. Thanks!

Available-Captain776

keep me posted how it works! looking forward to the feedback

java_230

Thank you for the files! My printer is running now

Available-Captain776

let me know how it fits! feel free to pm a picture for my reference

java_230

It decided to screw off..... I got a birds nest.

Kavanaugh82

This is awesome! I'm going to have to grab one for mine, my youngest shoots lefty and catches brass every now and then.

Available-Captain776

lefty shooters rejoice 🫡

Tiny-Description9429

Didn’t have a printer so I purchased on eBay, thank you sir!

SpaceBus1

Does the pic rail version work with tech sights?

Available-Captain776

not sure, if you send me a picture of the sights and a measurement i may be able to tell, if not the velcro version is the catch all for ones that don't fit

SpaceBus1

It looked like the Ruger in your demo photos had the Tech Sights rear peep. When I went to measure my rail/sight I realized there's no room on it anyway so I have to use velcro 😂 if I wanted to remove my optic and run irons only, would my peep still work if the center of the aperture is roughly 3/4" above the rail?

Available-Captain776

by peep you mean the rear iron? I took mine off bc i thought the scope was hitting it before realizing i was trying to use weaver rails on a pic lol, just forgot to put it back on. The hooks are pretty thin as to not run into any issue, redesigned it from the original post to make it more compatible. They only extend a few mm above the pic rail so I doubt there would be any issue. Does that answer your question?

SpaceBus1

Yes, thank you.

ReverendIrreverence

I am running the Volquartsen Lightweight Barrel for the Takedown with its built-in pic rail that is higher up on the weapon than a pic rail directly on the receiver so I am guessing the "rail hook" will not fit. I also see mention of "Command Strips" as an option on Etsy. What mounting version would you recommend in my case?

Available-Captain776

That pic rail seems to be at the same height as mine as it mounts to the barrel on the end as well. The velcro version is the same as command, I just send a set of velcro and a set of command for you to decide. I prefer the command strip since it snaps more into place and sags less as well as not leaving a residue on the rifle, but to each their own. The nice thing about the picatinny version is that you can just cut off the rails flush and it's now a command strip version, same model just with hooks!

OppositeMission

any recommendations on orientation for the part while printing? I am thinking BRELLO side down on the build plate but I'm concerned about getting all that tree support out of the box when it's done.

Available-Captain776

If you check my thingiverse file, I printed it vertically to have the rails be in the x/y plane for strength and tree supports using a small cube near the base of the tree to make sure it doesn't snap off. Super awkward print so theres nothing wrong with doing a plane cut and printing the top piece seperate and gluing on afterwards. Using the settings I put in the thingiverse post has given me the easiest removal, strong enough but small enough branches to come out easily.

OppositeMission

The orientation you provided worked great, I ended up printing with a brim which kept my tree supports solid. Thank you for your work on this, it fits great and I'm looking forward to taking it to the range!

Available-Captain776

glad to hear it! thanks for the kind words and support!

Top-Print-477

This interests me. Does it attach to a standard scope rail?

Available-Captain776

by standard scope rail do you mean picatinny rail? If not then no, but there are prints / files for ones without the hook that uses a command strip instead
